'Roos Perform Well at East Texas Invitational

COMMERCE, Texas - Multiple program and personal records were set on Friday as the Austin College distance track team competed at the East Texas Invitational hosted by Texas A&M Commerce.

RJ Navarro continued his stellar season with a record-breaking performance in the 5000-meter race, coming in with a time of 15:57.57, good for sixth place in the event. That time tops his own previous school record by 15 seconds. Also performing well in that event was Charlie McIntyre, who set a new personal best with a time of 16:39.08. Also setting a new personal best on the day was Andrew Thomas, who ran well in the 1500-meter event, coming in with a time of 4:29.84, placing him third in his heat.

For the women, Hannah Richards shattered her previous season-best time in the 1500-meter race, coming in with a time of 5:02.74, a full 29 seconds faster than her previous best this year. Danielle Lozano set a pair of personal records as well, coming in with a time of 5:32.60 in the 1500-meter and 20:35.83 in the 5000-meter race. Both of those times are more than 10 seconds faster than her previous best in either event.

Rounding out the strong performances was Hannah Fraga, who had a personal best of her own in the 800-meter event, finishing with a time of 2:44.10, four seconds better than her previous mark.
