Records Fall for 'Roo Track at UT-Tyler

TYLER, Texas - Three members of the Austin College men's distance track team broke the program record in the 5000-meter event and the 'Roos got a number of strong performances at the Marc Randal Classic hosted by UT-Tyler on Saturday.

RJ Navarro, Johnny Biffar, and Charlie McIntyre all topped the previous program best in the 5000-meter, with Navarro placing 15th overall with a time of 16:12.68, Biffar coming in 17th with a time of 16:19.71, and McIntyre finishing 22nd with a time of 16:39.98. Chris Biffar nearly added another program mark in the 1500-meter, coming up just short of his own record as he finished with a time of 4:18.39. That was good for 5th place in the event.

Austin College also got personal records for Jessica Hoffman in the 1500-meter, coming in with a time of 6:07.73, and Abigail Morgan had a personal best time of 3:17.40 in the 800-meter. Back on the men's side, Andrew Thomas had a personal record in the 1500-meter, finishing with a time of 4:30.75, placing him 10th in the event.
