LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College women's distance track runner Hannah Richards has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week, the league office has announced.
Richards, a junior from Pace, Florida, won both the 800-meter and 1500-meter races at the Marc Randle Classic hosted by the University of Texas-Tyler. She broke the program record in both events, finishing the 800m with a time of 2:26.15, and coming in with a time of 5:00.75 in the 1500m. This was the first time Richards has ever run the 800m, winning her initial heat by an incredible 22 seconds.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
