'Roo Distance Track Performs Well at UT-Tyler

TYLER, Texas - In the team's first meet of the year, the Austin College distance track team performed well, getting strong finishes on both the men's and women's side at the event.

The 'Roos had performers competing in the 1500 for both the men and the women, with Matthew Gregory placing 15th in the event on the men's side. Gregory finished with an outstanding time of 4:32.8, a modern era record for the Kangaroo track team.

On the women's side, Alex Quinn finished fourth overall and was the third place finisher among collegiate participants in the 1500, after also finishing first in her heat. Quinn came in with a time of 5:18.3 in the event, another modern era record for Austin College. Madison Galvan came in with a time of 5:33.67, good for 13th place, and Sarah Jackson placed right behind her in 14th place with a time of 5:41.7.
