Maisonet surrendered four runs on six hits in 2.0 innings of work in the defeat, as St. Thomas got two runs in the first inning and added two more in the second to take an early lead they would not relinquish. The Celts got on the board in the bottom of the first with an RBI double from Emma Garrett, and Mallarie Munson followed with a run-scoring double of her own. Mia Terry drove in UST's two runs in the second.

Garrett drove in another run in the fifth to kickstart a four run inning that made it an 8-0 game to end things after five innings of action. Game two was suspended until Sunday morning due to weather.
