LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College softball player Tori Herrera has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week, the league office has announced.
Herrera, a senior from Houston, tossed her second career no-hitter, and just the third in Austin College history, in a 13-0 win over Brooklyn College. Herrera struck out 13 batters in 5.0 innings of work with no walks, with the lone batter reaching base via an error. She needed just 57 pitches in the game, with 50 going for strikes.
With her 13 strikeouts, Herrera also moved into 5th place in SCAC history for career strikeouts, while also breaking her own program record for most strikeouts in a season.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
