Men's XC Opens Season at King Campbell Spectacular

TYLER, Tex. - The Austin College Men's Cross Country Team opened their 2017-18 campaign with a strong showing in the King Campbell Spectacular, hosted by the University of Texas at Tyler.

Five Kangaroos raced in the 2.06 mile/3.22 Kilometer event, with three young athletes placing better than top-20.  Freshman Johnny Biffar broke into the top-10 in his debut, logging a time of 11:06.0 as the top Austin College finisher.

Sophomore Matthew Gregory was not far behind Biffar with a time of 11:17.0; good for 2nd place amongst his teammates, 17th overall.  And Freshman Chris Biffar finished at 11:24.0 in 19th place.

Senior Jimmy Ding broke top-40 with a time of 12:43.0 and Burhanuddin Biviji placed 49th with a time of 15:48.0.

Austin College goes back out on the road on September 9th for the Our Lady of the Lake Collegiate Invitational hosted at Windcrest Golf Club in Windcrest, TX.  The race is set to start at 8:00AM.
