Men's Cross Country Opens Season at Tyler

TYLER, Tex. - The Austin College Men's Cross Country Team opened their Fall 2016 campaign at the King Campbell Spectacular yesterday on the campus of the University of Texas at Tyler.

Several Kangaroo Runners performed well in the 2-mile (3.22 Kilometer) race, including two freshman making their first appearances and leading the way for the Crimson and Gold in the process.

Matthew Gregory (Frisco, TX) finished 14th out of 48 runners with a time of 10:48, and Juan Sanchez (Saint Jo, TX) placed 27th at the 11:21 mark.

Last year's top finisher for Austin College in the SCAC Championships, Jeff Kubena, logged a personal best time of 11:33; good for 30th in the meet, and Cody Meyers was right behind him with an 11:40 time.

The Kangaroos look like they are in midseason form already, with a long season ahead of them.  Their next race will be in San Antonio on the campus of Our Lady of the Lake University, Saturday, September 10th at 8:00am.
