Men's Water Polo Dominates PSB

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's water polo team got out to a big lead early and never looked back, dominating visiting Penn State-Behrend from start to finish in a 25-7 victory on Friday night in Hannah Natatorium.

Cade Griffith got things started with a goal with 4:17 left in the opening quarter, and Austin College would take a 4-1 lead into the second quarter. The Lions trimmed the margin to 6-4 with 4:10 left in the opening half, but the 'Roos rattled off seven straight goals to end the period and head into halftime leading 13-4. Austin College outscored Penn State-Behrend 6-0 in the third quarter to surge ahead 19-4, and cruised from there on their way to an emphatic victory in the team's first home game of the 2022 campaign.

Griffith and Evan Cueva celebrated Senior Night with six goals apiece, as Austin College saw 10 different players tally in the victory. Max Wade had two goals in and three assists, while fellow senior Dylan Laventure had a pair of scores in the win. Aidan Wade scored twice, while Nikolas Koelzer found the back of the cage two times and added four assists. Jack Stack had two goals and two steals, and Dylan McArthur, Andrew Galt, and Nic Ruggiero each scored once in the victory.

Austin College is back in action on Saturday with a pair of games against Connecticut College at 9:00 a.m. and Augustana at 2:30 p.m.
