Austin College Announces Inaugural Varsity Men's Water Polo Schedule

SHERMAN, Texas - After a year competing as a club team, the Austin College men's water polo team will transition to the varsity ranks in the fall of 2018, and head coach Mark Lawrence has announced that the first ever 'Roo water polo schedule has been set.

The 'Roos will open up their first year as a varsity program with a trip to New England, taking on Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island on September 1 in the team's first ever varsity game. They'll also be taking on Bucknell that same day, and the following day will head to the Boston area to take on Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. 

On September 15, Austin College will be making history again when Brown travels to Sherman for the program's first home contest, which will take place at 3:00 p.m. in Hannah Natatorium. In October, the 'Roos will head back to the northeast, this time taking on George Washington in Washington, DC on October 12 before competing in the Division III Eastern Championships on the campus of Johns Hopkins on October 13-14.

After that, it's a trip to the west coast on October 19-20 to face La Verne, Caltech, and Cal Lutheran, and then the 'Roos wrap up their first season with the MPSF Championships from November 16-18 on the campus of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
