Syvoney Ybarra

Syvoney Ybarra

Syvoney Ybarra enters her first season as the Austin College men's and women's head tennis coach in 2022-23. Prior to coming to Austin College, Ybarra served as a graduate assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs at East Texas Baptist University.

Ybarra is a 2021 graduate of East Texas Baptist, where she earned All-ASC East Division honors and served as a team captain. She earned her master's degree in Strategic Communication from ETBU in 2022, and served as an assistant coach during her graduate year. While working with both the men's and women's programs at East Texas Baptist, Ybarra planned practices and handled much of the program's recruiting efforts, in addition to aiding in travel preparation and coordinating the academic component for all of the team's student-athletes. 

Ybarra, a native of San Antonio, was a nationally-ranked doubles player in the NJCAA at Jacksonville College prior to her time at East Texas Baptist. In addition to working as an assistant at ETBU last season, she has also served as an instructor at Texas A&M's Aggie Tennis Camp.
