ORLANDO, Fla. - The Austin College Men's Tennis Team dropped their first two matches in Florida over Spring Break; 2-7 to Oglethorpe University, and 4-5 to Ohio Wesleyan University.

In the morning match against the Stormy Petrels, AC found themselves down 1-2 after doubles play concluded.  Preston Spivey and Siddharth Kortikere rolled at Line 3 to prevent the sweep.  In singles competition, the 'Roos forced four 3rd-set Super-Tiebreakers at Lines 2-5, dropped all by a combined total of 16 points.  Josh Granberry played his best Men's Singles match of the year, winning 6-4, 6-0 at Line 1 Singles.

In the evening match at the USTA National Campus, the 'Roos started with singles and took Lines 3, 4, and 6 over the Battling Bishops.  Andres Padilla took Line 3 7-5, 6-1, Calum Robe took the first set and won a tight 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (13-11) decision, and Preston Spivey bounced back from his defeat in the morning with a 6-1, 6-1 result at Line 6.  With the score 3-3 following singles play, the 'Roos needed to win the majority of the doubles courts for the team victory, but the Line 2 tandem of Padilla/Robe were the only duo able to claim a victory, winning 8-7 (7-2).
