Kangaroos Sweep UMHB 9-0 in Men's Tennis

BELTON, Tex. - Austin College emerged victorious over the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Men's Tennis with a clean sweep, but not without challenge.

  Lines 2 and 3 doubles started slow against the Crusaders with Erik Meendsen and Josh Granberry fighting off break points at line 2 down 0-2.  Safe Rahman and Travis fortune found themselves down 0-4 and 2-5 at line 3. But the 'Roos came through with a 3-0 sweep at doubles led by Siddharth Kortikere and Andres Padilla holding off a late run at line 1.

  Calum Robe made quick work of his line 4 opponent 6-1, 6-0, and Padilla clinched the match for AC 6-3, 6-4.  Josh Granberry hit his comfort zone at line 1 with a big 6-3, 6-3 victory at line 1, and Siddharth Kortikere closed the door on a competitive line 2 match 6-4, 7-5.  From there, Erik Meendsen and Preston Spivey finished the Cru off at lines 5 and 6, 6-3, 6-4 & 6-4, 6-1 respectively.

  Austin College travels to Riverplace Country Club in Austin, TX to compete against Concordia University at 5:00PM today, 3/24.
