'Roo Tennis Matches Cut Short Due to Inclement Weather

SHERMAN, TX – The Austin College Men's Tennis Team faced the University of the Southwest at home for the first time since their loss on Valentine's Day last month.

                The 'Roos were excited to get the competition underway, but drenched courts delayed the start time as coaches and players worked tirelessly not to let another match opportunity slip away.

                Doubles competition got underway just an hour behind schedule, and the 'Roos jumped out to early leads against the Mustangs on Courts 2 and 3.  But the leads would not last as USW's aggressive net play combined with AC's unforced errors got the Mustangs rolling towards a doubles sweep.

                Singles play began but would not finish on any court as rain would prevent either team from reaching a decision.  Before the court conditions were ruled unplayable, Ambulo, Meendsen, and Jacob Morgan were all on serve in their respective first sets at Lines 1, 2, and 5.  Glasscock was warming up on court 3 before a light mist made the courts too slick to play.

                Austin College is back on the courts at home vs. Hendrix College tomorrow, March 15 at 9:00am.
