The Austin College men's tennis team topped Houston Community College and fell to Mississippi College over the weekend in a pair of home matches.
The 'Roos topped Houston CC 7-2, sweeping all doubles matches behind strong efforts from Tyler Roush and David Smith at number one, James Taylor and Jack Kunde at flight two, and Spencer Gander and Ben Boerner at number three. Kunde also won at number three singles with a score of 6-3, 6-0; Taylor won at number four at 6-2, 6-2; Gander won at number five at 6-3, 3-1; and Boerner won number six at 6-0, 6-0.
Against Mississippi College, the 'Roos fell 9-0. Smith dropped a tough match at number four, falling 4-6, 6-0, 11-9. Taylor and Kunde fell 8-2 at number two doubles and Gander and Boerner fell by the same score at number three doubles.
