Records Fall for 'Roo Swimming Against UTPB

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College swimming and diving teams swam well against the University of Texas-Permian Basin, with several records falling on the day as the men lost 197-79 and the women fell 165-89.

Ethan Nguyen set two program records, taking first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:11.72 and adding another first place finish in the 100 individual medley with a time of 54.78, nearly four seconds faster than the next competitor. Nguyen also had a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke, coming in with a time of 59.31. Sean Cookson added a second place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.68, and Colton Baker gave the 'Roos second place points in the 3-meter dive while Stephen Estraca finished second in the 1-meter diving event. 

Liberty Chanin continued her strong start to her career, picking up a pair of wins in the 1000 freestyle as well as the 500 freestyle. Chanin finished with a time of 11:15.32 in the 1000, and touched with a time of 5:36.16 in the 500, and Chloe Hunt added a first place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.08. Zuni Rubio also had a first place finish at the meet, coming in with a time of 2:33.81 in the 200 butterfly, and Nicole Massaro delivered first place points in the 1-meter dive.
