Brown Adds Another Record on Day Three at SCAC Championship

THE COLONY, Texas - Chris Brown broke his own school record in the 100 backstroke to pace the Austin College men's swimming and diving team on Friday as the 'Roos head into the final day of competition in fifth place at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Meet.

Brown placed second in the 100 backstroke, making him the first Austin College swimmer - male or female - to ever medal three times in the same SCAC Championship. His time of 51.09 also gave him the fastest time in program history. Brown teamed with Tyler Brown, Collin Vu, and Jason Chen later in the evening to take fourth in the 400 medley relay, coming in with a time of 3:40.52 in the event. 

Vu added a 10th place finish in the 100 yard butterfly, touching with a time of 52.68, while Tyler Brown's time of 1:04.42 scored the 'Roos more points and 13th place in the 100 breaststroke. Nic Cappellini placed 15th in the same event, while Robby Halloran was 13th in the 100 backstroke. Colton Baker, Cappellini, Zach Magers, and Sean Brogan teamed to earn the 'Roos a 12th place finish in the 400 medley relay. Baker was also fifth in the 1-meter diving competition, scoring 250.90 points.

Austin College heads into the last day at the championship with 228 total points.
