Men's Swimming Falls at Centenary in Final Regular Season Meet

SHREVEPORT, La. - The Austin College men's swimming and diving team wrapped up the regular season on the road at Centenary, falling to the Gents 103-86 in the last tune-up before the 2018 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships next month.

Chris Brown was a double-winner for Austin College at the meet, taking first in the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke with times of 2:06.51 and 56.88, respectively. Collin Vu had a first place finish of his own in the 50 freestyle, touching with a time of 22.43, and Nic Cappellini came in with a time of 1:08.74 to earn first in the 100 breaststroke. 

Eric Brown added a second place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.37, and Vu was second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.64. James Curtis added a second place finish as well, coming in at 11:23.95, fractions of a second behind the first place finisher in the 1000 freestyle. 

Austin College switches its focus now to the SCAC Championship Meet, which will be held February 14-17 in The Colony.
