LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College men's diver Colton Baker and swimmer Collin Vu have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Diver and Swimmer of the Week, respectively, for their outstanding performances over the weekend.
Baker, a sophomore from Copper Canyon, was named the Diver of the Week for the third time this season for his performances in a dual meet against Simpson College and then at the Austin College Invitational. Baker earned wins on the 1 and 3-meter boards against Simpson, and he took 2nd place behind Division II UT-Permian Basin on both boards in the AC Invitational.
Vu, a senior from Rowlett, earned Swimmer of the Week honors for the second time this season after strong showings against Simpson and in the AC Invitational. Vu took three first place finishes as part of the 200 Medley Relay, as well as in the 50 Free and the 100 Fly events against Simpson, and in Saturday's six team invitational, he was the overall winner in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.14. He also placed 2nd in the 200 Free (1:50.76) and 3rd in the 100 Fly (55.48).
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
