Men's Swimming Earns Season Opening Victory

The Austin College men's swimming and diving team had a strong opening to the 2016-2017 season, topping McMurry 145-48 on Friday evening in Abilene. 

Collin Vu had a strong performance at the meet, placing first in both the 50 and 100 free events. Vu came in with a time of 22.24 in the 50 and 49.95 in the 100, nearly four full seconds faster than the second place finisher. Vu also teamed with Nic Cappellini, Brian Nguyen, and Tyler Brown to take first in the 200 free relay. The team finished with a time of 1:53.96 in the event.

Colton Baker placed first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, and Chris Brown took first place in both the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke. Brown's time of 55.68 in the 100 back was more than 10 seconds faster than the second place finisher. He was also on the winning team in the 200 medley relay, along with Jason Chen, Eric Brown, and Joe Horn. The team came in with a time of 1:46.68.
