Men's Soccer Falls in Season Finale
HOUSTON, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 road match at the University of St. Thomas in the team's final game of the 2024 campaign, bringing the 'Roos to 6-12-2 overall and 4-6-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play to wrap up the year.

HOUSTON, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 road match at the University of St. Thomas in the team's final game of the 2024 campaign, bringing the 'Roos to 6-12-2 overall and 4-6-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play to wrap up the year.
Austin College struck first in the match, with Matheus Braid finding the back of the net on an assist from Pierce Wear in the 9th minute of action to take a 1-0 lead. That remained the score for almost the entire remainder of the half, but the Celts leveled things on a tally by Ian Alvarez at the 42:25 mark to make it 1-1 heading into halftime. The score remained square until just under 15 minutes left to play, with Brian Garcia scoring to put UST on top 2-1 in the 77th minute. Tony Castro followed with a goal just under two minutes later, and the Celts tacked on one more goal from Hani Ahmadie in the 86th minute to push the margin to 4-1.
Jayson Baldwin made five saves for Austin College and Cristo Gayoso stopped one shot for the Celts, as St. Thomas held an 18-to-5 shot advantage in the match.
