'Roos Fall to No. 18 Trinity
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped its final home game of the season on Sunday, falling 3-0 to No. 18-ranked Trinity University to bring the team to 5-9-2 overall and 3-3-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped its final home game of the season on Sunday, falling 3-0 to No. 18-ranked Trinity University to bring the team to 5-9-2 overall and 3-3-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
Trinity tallied twice in rapid succession midway through the first half to break open what had been an evenly matched start to the game, with Adam Knutson finding the back of the net at the 24:16 mark and JonConnor Rule scoring a minute later to quickly put Austin College in a 2-0 hole. Trinity out-shot the 'Roos 9-1 in the opening half, including a 5-to-0 edge in shots on goal, and the two teams headed to the break with the Tigers on top by a pair.
The score remained 2-0 through most of the second half, with Trinity firing off 14 shots after the break compared to two for the 'Roos, but the Austin College defense was able to keep the Tigers at bay until nearly the end of the game. Trinity would tack on its third goal of the game in the 89th minute, with Luke Chandler scoring off of a corner kick by Alex Baltov to make it 3-0, and that's how things would finish. Jayson Baldwin made six saves for Austin College, who head to Austin on Friday to take on Concordia in another SCAC match kicking off at 5:00 p.m.
