'Roo Men's Soccer Set for SCAC Tournament

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team won three straight matches to end the season, climbing the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference standings and clinching the No. 5-seed in the conference tournament in the process. The 'Roos open up the postseason tomorrow against Southwestern.

This year's tournament will take place in San Antonio with Trinity University serving as host, and the 'Roos will take the field in the first match of the tournament as they take on the No. 4-seeded Pirates at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The 'Roos finished the season with a record of 6-10-1, including a 3-5 mark in conference play, while Southwestern was 10-6-2 overall and 4-4-1 in the SCAC. The 'Roos and Pirates met once this season, with Austin College falling 3-1 in Georgetown on October 6. The winner of tomorrow's match advances to the semifinals, where top-seeded Colorado College awaits at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
