Men's Soccer Edged by Colorado College

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team battled throughout and had several chances in the second half, but Colorado College found the net at the 56-minute mark and the 'Roos were unable to equalize in a 1-0 loss on Friday evening. The 'Roos are now 3-9-1 overall and 0-4 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Colorado College came out as the aggressor in the first half, controlling possession for much of the opening period and out-shooting Austin College 12-to-4 but the 'Roos kept the Tigers off the board to keep it scoreless at halftime. In the second half, Austin College began to find a rhythm in the attacking third and created multiple scoring chances, but were unable to find the net.

The Tigers broke through 11 minutes after halftime, cashing in on a corner kick with a header from Kiran Singh to go on top 1-0 and that's how things would stay the rest of the game. Austin College had one final scoring opportunity late, but Jean Luundo's shot with under a minute left was turned away by Colorado College keeper Keleher Felton with a diving, one-handed save.

Austin College owned an 11-to-9 shot advantage in the second half, including putting four attempts on goal, but Felton stopped all five shots he faced in the match. Juan Rodriguez made seven saves for the 'Roos in defeat.

The 'Roos will look to bounce back on Sunday when they host Johnson & Wales University in another SCAC matchup with game time set for 2:00 p.m.
