Men's Soccer Falls in Double Overtime

IRVING, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker on Friday evening, as the University of Dallas scored a golden goal in double overtime to hand the 'Roos a 1-0 loss in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action. The 'Roos are now 3-8-1 overall and 0-3 in the SCAC.

It was a defensive battle throughout, with Dallas out-shooting Austin College 9-to-5 in the opening half before the 'Roos began to control the action after halftime, firing 12 shots to just three for the Crusaders. However, neither team was able to put the ball in the net, sending the game to overtime. Dallas got a pair of chances while the 'Roos had one shot in the first overtime, and in the second overtime the Crusaders would only need one attempt as Hunter Haugland found the net in the 105th minute of action to end the game.

Austin College held an 18-to-15 shot advantage in the game, but the 'Roos were only able to put three attempts on target. Juan Rodriguez made five saves for Austin College in the loss.
