'Roos Drop Road Match at Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado College used a big second half to break open what had been a closely contested match, scoring three times after the break to hand Austin College a 4-0 loss on Friday night. The 'Roos are now 4-5-2 overall and 3-5-1 in SCAC play.

Colorado College's Keenan Amer got an early tally for the Tigers, heading home a corner kick to make it 1-0 just over 10 minutes into the match. That remained the score through halftime, but the Tigers found the net just five minutes into the second frame, and added a third goal eight minutes after that to put the game out of reach. Both goals came off the foot of Robert Malone, with the second coming by way of a penalty kick. The final score of the match came on an own-goal by Austin College in the 81st minute.

It was a defensive match throughout, with Colorado College attempting just 10 shots while holding the 'Roos to three attempts. Austin College will look to bounce back on Sunday when they take on Johnson & Wales in Denver.
