No. 9 Trinity Tops Austin College Men

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team fell 3-0 on the road at No. 9-ranked Trinity University on Friday night, bringing the team's overall record to 2-2-1 and 1-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Trinity got on the board in the 10th minute of action when a free kick went untouched through the box, and after Austin Michaelis put a shot off the post he collected his own rebound and punched it home from point blank range. The Tigers would add one more goal in the first half, as Ryan Hunter curled a shot from 18 yards into the upper left corner to make it 2-0 at the break.

The Tigers would seal the match midway through the second half, as Michaelis scored again on a feed from Wesley Mitchell in the 73rd minute of play to make it 3-0. Austin College was unable to generate much offense, getting off just four shots, including one on goal. Trinity, meanwhile, took 25 shots with 14 on goal. Joseph Khalaf made 11 saves in the net for the 'Roos.

Austin College will be looking to bounce back on Sunday as they travel to Kerrville to take on Schreiner.
