Austin College Falls Short at No. 2 Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team had a chance late to equalize against No. 2-ranked Trinity, but the Tigers would add a late insurance goal to hand the 'Roos a 2-0 loss on Sunday. The 'Roos are now 7-6-4 overall and 5-5-3 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Austin College fell behind 1-0 early on a 12th minute goal by Quentin Van Der Lee, but the 'Roos hung tough with the Tigers as Joseph Khalaf made 14 saves to anchor a strong defensive effort. The 'Roos had multiple late chances to even the score, and Sebastian Bohlmann's header off of a corner kick hit the cross bar in the 85th minute to keep Austin College scoreless. Trinity (16-1, 12-1 SCAC) found an insurance goal three minutes later to hold off the 'Roos.

The Tigers out-shot Austin College 27-8 in the match, with seven of the eight 'Roo shots coming after halftime.
