Quick Tallies Twice in Victory Over Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Thomas Quick found the net twice in the first half and that's all the Austin College men's soccer team would need in a 2-0 victory over Southwestern on Friday evening. The 'Roos are now 6-3-3 overall and 4-2-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

After 30 minutes of scoreless play to open the game, Quick found himself on a breakaway and found the back of the net at the 31:56 mark to put Austin College ahead 1-0. It woudn't take long for Quick to score again, taking an assist from Taylor Goyen in the 40th minute of action and punching it home for a 2-0 lead. That's how things would stand heading into halftime, and the second half saw both teams go scoreless as the 'Roos topped the Pirates for the second time this season.

Both teams fired nine shots in the match, with Joseph Khalaf making three saves for Austin College in the shutout victory. It's the fourth clean sheet of the season for Khalaf and the 'Roos.

Austin College will look to make it two in a row on Sunday as they head to Seguin to take on Texas Lutheran.
