'Roo Men Battle Dallas to Double Overtime Draw

IRVING, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team went into halftime leading 1-0 and wound up battling the University of Dallas to a 1-1 double overtime draw in Irving on Sunday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 4-2-3 overall and 2-1-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Austin College found the back of the net in the 18th minute of action, as Jack Wheaton took a pass from Juan Ramirez and tallied his second score of the season. The 'Roos held their 1-0 lead through halftime, and it wasn't until the 60th minute that Dallas managed to equalize with a penalty kick from Luke Schwarz. Neither team was able to find a game winner in regulation, sending the match to the first overtime period.

Each team had multiple opportunites in the first extra frame but couldn't get the golden goal, and Austin College fired two shots in the second overtime but once again came up empty. Joseph Khalaf made 11 saves for Austin College, as the Crusaders held a 24-14 shot advantage, including 12-5 in shots on goal.
