Austin College Men Edged by No. 1 Trinity

The Austin College men's soccer team put forth an outstanding defensive effort but an early goal by No. 1-ranked Trinity University proved to be the difference in a 1-0 loss. The 'Roos are now 8-6-1 overall and 5-5 in SCAC competition.

Trinity found the net just 3:26 into the game on a goal by Austin Michaelis, as Michaelis punched in a rebound after a shot ricocheted off the crossbar. That would be the only score of the game, despite the Tigers out-shooting Austin College 31-4 in the match. The 'Roos had a chance late in the match to square things up, but Juan Ramirez's last minute attempt was saved and the top-ranked Tigers escaped with the win.

Joseph Khalaf made eight saves, and was aided in the strong defensive effort by his back line of Levin Dyson, Ben Sloan, and Chase Gaskill, along with outstanding defensive midfield play from players like Sebastian Bohlmann and Ramirez.
