Southwestern Edges 'Roo Men's Soccer

The Austin College men's soccer team fell behind 2-0 and was unable to climb out of that hole, dropping a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match at Southwestern by a final score of 2-1 on Sunday. The 'Roos are now 4-3 overall and 1-2 in SCAC play.

The Pirates got on the board midway through the first half on a goal by Christian Lopez to make it 1-0, and that's how things would stand heading into the break. Just over 12 minutes into the second half, Southwestern would add another tally to make it 2-0. Austin College cut the lead in half in the 66th minute of action when Phillip Le found Juan Ramirez for a strike from 18 yards away, but that's as close as things would get.

Southwestern held a 19-7 shot advantage in the match, with Joseph Khalaf making six saves in goal for Austin College

The 'Roos will be looking to bounce back on Tuesday when they host UC Santa Cruz at 4:00 p.m.
