The Austin College men's soccer team fell in an early hole and was unable to climb out on Sunday, falling 3-0 to visiting Southwestern University in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match. The 'Roos fall to 0-5-2 overall with the loss.

The first Southwestern goal came in the 13th minute of action, when Christian Lopez collected a centered pass in front of the net and punched it in to put the Pirates on top 1-0. Lopez would tally again in the 31st minute to put Southwestern up 2-0, and that's how things would stand heading into the half. Southwestern owned a 7-5 shot advantage in the opening frame.

The Pirates would continue to get the offensive edge in the second half, out-shooting Austin College 13-3 after the break, with Ryan Jones tallying in the 76th minute to make it 3-0, and the 'Roos would be unable to get a comeback mounted over the game's final 15 minutes of action.

Andrew Celio made seven saves for Austin College, while Travis Carmichael made three stops for Southwestern.
