Tigers Use Big Second Half to Pull Away From 'Roos

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College men's basketball team fell 98-61 on Saturday evening at Trinity University, as the Tigers broke open the game with a 58 point second half explosion to pull away from the 'Roos in the final 20 minutes of action.

It was a 40-30 game at halftime with Trinity on top, but the Tigers shot 55.6% from the field and knocked down six threes to break open the game down the stretch. Austin College, meanwhile, went 0-of-6 from deep and just 7-of-25 overall in the second half, with Trinity also dominating on the glass after the break. The Tigers outrebounded Austin College 28-13 in the second half, after the 'Roos had held a 21-14 first half rebounding edge.

Austin College committed 20 turnovers in the game compared to just nine for the Tigers, and Trinity outscored the 'Roos 50-24 in the paint. The Tigers also got 46 points from their bench, while the 'Roos had 17 bench points in the game. Joshua Joe led Austin College with 15 points and eight rebounds, and Tristan Dick added 14 points and six boards for the 'Roos. Ocie Berry and Chase Antosca chipped in nine and eight points, respectively. AJ Clark led Trinity with 19 points and seven rebounds.

The 'Roos will host the University of Dallas on Saturday as they celebrate Senior Day in Hughey Gym.
