'Roo Men Fall at LeTourneau

The Austin College men's basketball team fell 78-62 in a road game at LeTourneau on Saturday, dropping the 'Roos to 3-5 overall this season.

LeTourneau drilled 11 three pointers in the game and out-rebounded the 'Roos 44-to-34 on their way to handing Austin College the loss. Austin College knocked down just 3-of-17 three pointers and shot 35.4% from the field overall as the offense struggled to get going. The 'Roos had a tough time scoring in the second half in particular, hitting just 27% from the field as a team after the break.

Austin College took an early 7-3 lead but LeTourneau answered with a 20-2 run to make it 23-9 with 13:08 left in the first half. The 'Roos pulled to within four points at 32-28 with 8:51 on the clock, but the Jackets would end the half strong, using a 7-3 run in the closing moments to head into the locker room with a 47-37 lead.

LeTourneau pushed the margin to 65-48 midway through the second half and Austin College was unable to recover, never getting closer than a 12 point deficit the rest of the way.

Brian Baehl and Stephen Igbinosa each scored 13 to lead Austin College, while Jeremy Swisher added 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists in the loss.
