'Roo Men Top Texas-Tyler 70-65

The Austin College men's basketball team picked up a big win on Wednesday, topping the University of Texas-Tyler 70-65 on the road. The 'Roos are now 2-2 overall this season.

Jeremy Swisher scored 22 points, hitting 4-of-5 three pointers, to lead the charge for Austin College. The 'Roos took a 34-31 lead into halftime, and after the Patriots came back to tie things up at 36 early into the second frame, Austin College used a 12-4 run to make it 48-40 with 15:13 left. 

However, UT-Tyler came roaring back with a 12-3 run to grab a one point lead. The Patriots went ahead 55-53 on a three pointer with 8:32 left in the game, and the teams traded baskets until a jumper by Swisher put the 'Roos ahead for good at 61-59 with 4:15 on the clock. Austin College knocked down nine free throws the rest of the way to seal the victory.

Stephen Igbinosa added 12 points with seven rebounds and two blocks, and Austin Wells scored 11 points, burying a trio of three pointers. Brian Baehl had a strong all-around game with nine points, five assists, and three boards.
