'Roo Men Cruise Past Hendrix for First Win

The Austin College men's basketball team ran past Hendrix College 89-40 on Sunday to earn their first win of the 2016-17 season, bringing the team's record to 1-2 on the year. The game was the second of the weekend for the 'Roos as part of the SAA/SCAC Challenge in Jackson, Mississippi.

Austin College dominated from the start, taking a 44-15 lead into halftime while holding Hendrix to just four made field goals in the opening frame. The 'Roos put 45 second half points on the board and finished the game holding the Warriors to just 30% shooting, including 2-of-14 shooting from long range.

Jeremy Swisher and Brian Baehl each scored 15 points to lead a balanced attack, as 16 different players got into the scoring column for Austin College. Patrick Johnson came off the bench to score 10 points and grab eight boards, while Stephen Igbinosa pulled down 11 rebounds and Austin Freet added 10 boards. Justin Wade scored eight points for Austin College, who out-rebounded Hendrix 51-35 in the game.
