Turnovers Prove Costly for 'Roos in Loss to Centenary

The Austin College men's basketball team gave it away 27 times and was unable to overcome those miscues in a 74-65 loss at Centenary on Friday night in Shreveport. The 'Roos fall to 13-7 overall and 3-7 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the loss.

Brian Baehl scored 23 points, adding three assists and three steals, to pace the 'Roos in the loss. Austin College took a 36-30 lead into halftime, but turned it over 15 times in the second half alone as the Gents took advantage and out-scored the 'Roos by 15 points after halftime. The game was knotted at 60 with just under four minutes to play, but Centenary closed the game on a 14-5 run to hand the 'Roos the loss.

Alan Sullivan and Justin Wade each scored 11 points for Austin College, with Sullivan adding eight rebounds and Wade grabbing six boards. Chris Essien pulled down a career-best 15 rebounds in the loss.
