Hendrix College scored with just three seconds left and the Austin College men's basketball team was unable to answer as the 'Roos fell 54-52 on Friday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 3-5 overall this season with the loss.
Austin College got out to a hot start, knocking down 4-of-7 threes in the first half and pestering the Warriors into 11 turnovers before the break to go up 34-23 at halftime. Brian Baehl scored nine points in the opening frame on his way to a team-high 13 for Austin College.
The Warriors chipped away at the Austin College lead and took a late 52-49 lead before Ryan Reibly buried a three pointer with 23 seconds on the clock, but with three seconds left Hendrix got a basket by Luke Vance to complete the second half comeback. Austin College was limited to 18 points in the second half, shooting just 30.4% from the field after halftime.
Baehl finished 6-of-11 from the field and added five rebounds and three assists, and Andres Rivera came off the bench to score 11, hitting 3-of-3 attempts from beyond the arc. Austin Freet added nine points in the loss.
