'Roo Men's Hoops Rolls Past Millsaps

The Austin College men's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack, including 47 points from its bench, to run past Millsaps College 77-47 in a Thursday afternoon road game. The 'Roos are now 3-4 overall this season.

Austin College dominated in virtually every statistical category, owning a 49-30 edge in rebounds and getting 34 points in the paint while also hounding the Majors into 16 turnovers. The 'Roos also shot 49.2% from the field, while holding Millsaps to just 22.9% overall. Austin College led by as much as 32 early in the second half.

The 'Roos sprinted out to a 15-1 lead and never looked back, scoring 32 points before the Majors were able to hit double figures in the first half. Austin Freet, Brian Baehl, and Cedric Hudson each scored 11 to pace the 'Roos, with Freet adding seven boards and Baehl dishing out three assists and hitting all five of his field goal attempts.

Ryan Reibly came off the bench to snag nine rebounds as one of three players scoring five points, while Alan Sullivan, Josh Dickerman, and Harry Hampden-Smith each chipped in eight points in the victory.
