For the second straight day the Austin College men's basketball team found itself facing a big deficit at halftime, and the 'Roos were unable to mount a comeback despite a strong second half performance in a 90-61 loss to Rhodes College. The 'Roos are now 2-3 overall this season.

The 'Roos struggled to find anything offensively in the first half against a strong Rhodes defensive effort, with Austin College held to just 19 points in the opening frame. Austin College hit just 5-of-20 shots in the half, while the Lynx made 68% of their first half field goals and knocked down five threes to take a 48-19 lead into the break.

Austin College opened the second half with a 10-3 run to chip away at the Rhodes lead, but the Lynx came up with some big baskets down the stretch to maintain the margin and Austin College was unable to get the deficit under 20 the rest of the way. The 'Roos shot 48.3% from the field and hit five threes in the second half, but it wasn't enough to get back into the game after the break.

Jeremy Swisher scored 10 of his team-high 13 points after halftime, hitting 5-of-10 shots overall while grabbing four rebounds and handing out a pair of assists. Austin Freet added 11 points and a team-best five rebounds, and Alan Sullivan chipped in nine points, including eight in the first half.

Rhodes outrebounded the 'Roos 36-27 in the game and hounded the 'Roos into 18 turnovers. Tyler Gee paced the Lynx with 16 points.
