'Roo Men's Hoops Falls to Trinity

The Austin College men's basketball team fell in a big halftime hole and was unable to climb out despite a big second half, falling 80-67 to Trinity on Friday night in San Antonio. The 'Roos are now 5-16 overall and 2-9 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

The 'Roos trailed 42-27 thanks to an incredible first half three point performance by Trinity, which went 10-of-15 from downtown in the opening 20 minutes.  The 'Roos ended up knocking down 11-of-23 triples for the game, including 5-of-9 as they outscored the Tigers 40-38 after halftime, but were unable to overcome the big halftime deficit.

Walter Phillips came off the bench to scored a team-high 17 points and added six rebounds and Jordan Hancock knocked down three treys on his way to 16 points. Kevin Graham hit 3-of-5 triples on his way to 10 points.
