ATLANTA, Ga. –Austin College football players Colt Collins and Morris Shell have been named the Southern Athletic Association Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for their performances in a 34-23 win at Millsaps on Saturday.
Collins, a junior quarterback from Princeton, completed 20-of-40 passes for 268 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions, and also led the 'Roos on the ground with 65 rushing yards. Collins also had a 35-yard touchdown run, giving him four total scores on the day.
Shell, a senior linebacker from Irving, led Austin College with 10 tackles, including six solo stops in the win over the Majors. Shell had half a tackle for loss, and also recovered a fumble and picked off a pass to help the 'Roos earn the road victory.
