Austin College was able to even things up again before the end of the first quarter, with a 6-yard touchdown pass from Collins to Brennan Ellis making it 21-21.

Trinity would score the only touchdown of the second quarter, but that would kick off a string of 28 unanswered points for the Tigers as the margin surged to 49-21 with 6:19 left in the fourth quarter. Austin College would get two touchdowns late, first on a 19-yard run by Collins to cap off a seven play, 90-yard drive, and then Collins would score on the ground for the third time, this time from four yards out to make it a 49-35 final.
