The Austin College football team lost some key pieces from its 2015 roster, but will be bringing in 43 talented newcomers for the 2016 campaign.
Last season, the 'Roos finished the year with a record of 5-5 and will be looking to build on that in the team's final year as a member of the SCAC. Austin College football, along with Trinity University, will transition to the SAA beginning in the 2017 season.
"I'm very happy with the class size," said head coach Loren Dawson. "We always shoot to bring in 40 student-athletes, and were able to get 43 this year. One of the areas I'm excited about is the offensive line. This is the strongest offensive line class we've brought in to Austin College in my 13 seasons as a coach here. I'm also very glad that we're continuing to make progress and recruit well in the Houston area."
