Three from 'Roo Football Named USA College Football Preseason All-America

Austin College football players Madison Ross, Brett Vaughn, and Brooks Ward have been named to the USA College Football 2015 Preseason All-America First Team, the organization has announced.

Ross, a senior running back from Fort Worth, was a first team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference performer last year and was a first team Academic All-American in 2014. Ross finished second in the SCAC with 965 yards and nine touchdowns. He was also a two-time SCAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Vaugh, a senior defensive lineman from Carrollton, was a first team All-SCAC performer last season after finishing the year with 40 tackles, including 2.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss. Vaughn also recovered a fumble and blocked a field goal, and was named the SCAC Special Teams Player of the Week once.

Ward, a senior linebacker from Grand Prairie, was a first team All-SCAC selection after finishing the season ranked third in the conference with 88 tackles, and was tied for 11th with 8.5 tackles for loss. Ward also had a sack and an interception on the season.
