'Roo Football Falls in Season Finale

The Austin College football team jumped on top early but Trinity scored 28 unanswered points on its way to handing the 'Roos a 42-13 loss on Saturday afternoon in San Antonio. With the loss the 'Roos end the season with a record of 2-8.

A three yard touchdown run from Madison Ross following an early interception for the 'Roos put Austin College on top 7-0 less than three minutes into the game, but the Tigers countered just over a minute later and added three touchdowns in the second quarter to go into the locker room leading 28-7.

Devin Smith got his first career touchdown with 9:33 left in the third quarter to cut it to 28-13, but the Tigers scored 14 straight to end the game and make it a 42-13 final.

Ross finished with 85 yards on 22 carries and Broc Boyd added 52 on 12 carries to lead an offense that gained 194 yards on the ground but was limited to 38 through the air. William Gadberry made six tackles and Brooks Ward and Shane Hodge each had an interception to lead the 'Roos defensively.
