LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College baseball player Brett Taff has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, the league office has announced. 

Taff, a senior shortstop from Amarillo, led the 'Roos to a 2-2 record last week, splitting twin-bills against Dallas Christian and Arlington Baptist. For the week, Taft batted.582, going 7-for-12 at the plate with four stolen bases, three RBI and three extra base hits. In the win over Dallas Christian, Taft went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two stolen bases. 

On the year, Taff leads the SCAC with a .579 batting average and is second in the conference with four doubles.
