SHREVEPORT, La. - The Austin College baseball team dropped both halves of its doubleheader at Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference-leading Centenary College on Friday night. The 'Roos are now 13-14 overall and 6-8 with the losses. Centenary improves to 22-13 and 13-2 in SCAC play.

The 'Roos fell 10-2 in game one before being no-hit in a 7-0 game two loss, keeping things close early in both games before the Gents pulled away with a big inning in each game. In game one, the Gents scored a run in the first and another in the third to lead 2-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth, but five runs came across in that inning to blow things open. Two more runs scored in the fifth to make it 9-0 before Austin College got an RBI single from Justin Alphonse in the seventh. Centenary scored once more in the eighth, and Austin College scored on an error in the ninth to make it a 10-2 final.

Alphonse and Austin Dudley were each 2-for-4 in the game, while Chase Almaguer took the loss, surrendering nine runs (six earned) on nine hits in 5.0 innings of work.

In game two the 'Roos trailed just 1-0 heading into the sixth, but Centenary erupted for six runs in that inning, and that's all the scoring that would be done by either team in the game as teh Austin College offense was shut down by Gents pitcher Matthew Devillier. Devillier struck out 12 batters on his way to tossing a no-hitter. Ryan Culp absorbed the loss, giving up seven runs on just six hits in 6.0 innings of work.
