SHERMAN, Texas – Chase Almaguer threw a no-hitter and Austin College exploded for 10 runs over the fifth and sixth innings as the 'Roos topped Blackburn 12-1 to complete a series sweep of the Beavers. Austin College is now 6-5 overall this season.

Almaguer went the distance in the seven-inning victory, striking out three batters while walking two and allowing one unearned run in the third. An error and a passed ball opened the door for the Beavers to get on the board first, but Austin College scored two in the bottom half of the third to go on top 2-1 and they'd never look back.

James Wyche's two-run double in the fifth highlighted a four-run inning, and the 'Roos erupted for six more in the sixth to go ahead 12-1. Wyche, James Arguello, Justin Alphonse, Clay Gilbert, and Bennett Reagan each collected an RBI in the frame.

Reagan, Arguello, Wyche, and Brett Taff each had two hits in the victory, with Arguello and Wyche each driving in three runs.

Earlier in the day, the 'Roos completed their game two victory over the Beavers after last night's walk-off hit was wiped out due to a ruling that all runners did not complete the play. By rule, the result is an out, and the teams picked up the game in the top of the ninth. Austin College took advantage of two throwing errors on the same play in the bottom of the 10th, with Oscar Gonzalez coming home to score the winning run in a 6-5 win.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
